I dont know anything about them (except from the Info given in the sheet from this 7"),

and I dont know if anyone knows, except for themselves... 

since I am one of the only two lastfm listeners ever.

However, really great Metal(core) Band to my mind - probably H8000.

I just thought that It would be a shame if no one ever knew them 

and so I ripped this "chance discovery" ;-)

Unborn

Way too underrated band, which I thought would be more well known,

not only for what band members have done before, meanwhile and after,

but I guess at least nowadays theire passing into oblivion...

I finally got the Unborn & Vegan Militia Split - check it out!
Musically, just as lyrically this is awesome - it just picks things up, where they stopped.
The only thing I unfortunately have to criticize here, are the vocals...
they are not bad, just somehow less powerfull than before.

Caliban

Another realy "big" band, at least as famous as Maroon I guess, if not even more...

Formed in 1997, they still exist, but slowly changed their sound from release to release...

I mean, in the beginning, they made true (straight edge influenced) 90s metalcore 

and shared the Stage with Bands like Earth Crisis, Cro-Mags and Slayer.

And now, on their new Record you can hear a Keyboard in some Songs 

and if that wouldnt be enough, the person who does the keys 

is the same who did them for... Marc Terenzi!

I mean, think about this for a second (or two)!

However, members were and are involved in many other projects, as Deadsoil, Waterdown, 

Aclys, Gomorrha, Six Reasons To Kill, Machinemade God and Copykill, to name just a few!

And like in (too) many other big bands, they were pretty awesome until they signed to a major label. 

So this post will be about Caliban when they were great!

To my mind Shadow Hearts Is the best Record ever!

Their former releases were realy great also, but this one is quite incredible!

Unfortunately nothing realy spectacular followed anymore... 

The Opposite From Within (2004) wasnt that bad, 

but they dont just tried to sound more Mainstream and were on major label,

 they also stopped releasing Vinyl! To me this was/is some kind of double sellout... 

Further Releases came out on Vinyl again - I guess they realized their mistake - but, however...

There is also a Demo that I dont have, the original Lifeforce Tape from 1997, 

which got signed, released under the name Never Again. 

So, if anyone has it, or at least any knowledge that I could not have - please contact me!

Undying

One of the best and most impressive metalcore bands of all time!

(Contains Members from Day Of Suffering, Prayer For Cleansing and Catharsis)

Very melodical metal(core) with crushing beatdowns and an awesome rhythm (2nd) guitar!

 Poetic Lyrics about Politics, Activism, Veganism and Animal Liberation.

Until 2003 female fronted.

Due some health problems they had to change the vocalist. 

But this did not affect the magnificence of the band, if anything it even improved them!

Although not realy unknown or underrated, 

I just noticed that some releases (Demo and Split EP) are quiet hard to get.

 Members are still active in Go Deep and Gut Feeling.

Mar

 Another unfamous metal(core) Band founded in the 90's (Vienna).

They started to make t(h)rashy hardcore influenced metal 

and developed to a black/death metal influenced melodic metalcore band.

However, before they disbanded in 2005 they released a Promo Cd with 3 new tracks, 

which I dont have... So, if you have it or know someone who could, write me please!

This is one of the better known and also realy famous 

German metalcore bands I guess...

But Im talking about Maroon when they were cool!

Before they signed Century Media, started to make shitty new school metal 

and at least broke the edge (or just stopped being an edge band - I dont want to spread false rumors)!

So, if you have heard about Maroon nowadays, or have seen them on... 

I dont know,  MTV or something like that - expect something different!

This is 90's Vegan Straight Edge Metalcore!
